Encouraging self-confidence

Good to find! We received and want to share with you some aspects of an activity carried out with the beneficiaries of our project from the Secondary School in Ion Creangă commune.

“Friday, April 21, 2023, we happily found all ten beneficiaries of our Project from Ion Creangă Commune Secondary School, Averești Structure. Even if, cognitively, many children know what they have to do, when it comes to practice, some lack confidence in themselves, so that often some are hesitant to engage in activities, others do not complete them because they get discouraged very easily, others give up because they listen to the voices of those who tell them they can’t, or won’t succeed… In our activity, each participant managed to build the pyramid of words “I can too, but sometimes I need to be encouraged, supported and guided!”, listening to the voices that told him that he can, that he will succeed, and ignoring the voices that told him that he can not! Our activity aimed to increase their self-confidence, to persevere, to develop their capacity for self-knowledge, to notice how important it is to be attentive, to focus, to work patiently, and to develop their sense of of self-efficacy: “I’m good at something too!”. We wanted to create some opportunities for our beneficiaries to achieve success and to express their qualities and strengths, to feel that they are capable and can succeed in many challenges.” says Diana Ionela Imbru – psychologist.
