Emotion control
Today, we present to you some images captured during the activity carried out at the Secondary School in Ion Creangă Commune – Averești Structure, Friday, January 20, 2023.
“We started the activity by encouraging the children to share their experiences, thoughts, feelings, needs, using the metaphor of the volcano. Just like a volcano, unexpressed or neglected levels of emotion, of their feelings, can begin to simmer gently in the depths, then bubble more and more intensely, until they erupt and spill over beyond being contained or controlled. Each of the children, with delight, added a little baking soda (which I likened to the child’s feelings and thoughts), then vinegar (or the stressor associated with inhibition) to the glass. Thus, they observed how accumulated and repressed emotions and feelings, if not shared, monitored and regulated adequately, spill over and can “ruin”. After this experiment, we continued the activity by reading two case studies by two of our beneficiaries, we completed the worksheet “Why do I learn?”, thus identifying the reasons why we learn; then, through brainstorming, we discovered together new ways to stimulate children’s motivation. “says psychologist Ionela Diana Imbru.
